Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) as well as Chris Watson (born in Paris). As a child she attended the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma's dream was to become an actor. At the age of 6, she enrolled in the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch and took lessons for acting, singing and dancing. As part of a school production and the stage of a Stagecoach show, she took the lead at the age 10 and performed. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 adaptation to J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel was published in 1999. Casting agents discovered Emma via her Oxford theatre instructor. David Heyman announced to Emma that following eight auditions Emma and Rupert Grint were chosen as Hermione and Harry Potter. Emma's first appearance on the big screen came in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone that was released in the year 2001. It was the highest-grossing film of 2001 The film broke records for its debut day opening and its opening weekend earnings. Reviewers have been highly lauding the film, as well as the performances by the three main young actors. The highly distributed British newspaper The Daily Telegraph called her performances admirable. Emma's performance was recognized and won five awards later in the film.
